Makeup bag MUST haves

One of the my favorite things to do is to be able go through my client’s makeup bag. It‘s so FUN! You can learn a lot about a woman through her makeup bag. Plus, I also love to see the products they pick and learn why. Essentially, this is what I do on a Beauty Discovery Call. I meet up with women virtually or in person and we talk about how they can improve or update their look. Quite often women go to the makeup store or get online and spend LOTS of money on products but still can‘t seem to figure out why their makeup look doesn’t come together.

Wearing makeup well is definitely about technique, but you also have to have the essential products and tools. On these calls I realize that ladies are missing key products. So today let’s go over some key things you need in your makeup bag.

1. Primer

Primer is what helps your makeup to last throughout the day and helps your makeup to appear smooth. Depending on the primer it will helps to control shine as well.

2. Foundation

Foundation is the product that gives you an all even skin tone as well as protects your skin from the sun‘s UV rays. Helping your skin to appear even in texture and healthy color. It’s important that your foundation matches or else it can make your skin look worse, older, or even dry or patchy. Which defeats the purpose of wearing it.

3. Concealer

Concealer is a “miracle worker.” This cosmetic covers blemishes, dark circles, and hyperpigmentation. It can also help to highlight areas of the face as well.

4. Powder

Powder is one my favs! It‘s designed to “set” or “hold” your makeup application all day. It also creates a smooth, matte finish. This cosmetic can come is a pressed, a loose form.
